Kaseye Girls Secondary School
History of the school
Kaseye Girls is a mission school proudly owned by the Catholic Diocese of Karonga. The school is located in Traditional Authority Mwalumbia in Chitipa District. It was opened on 7th May, 2007 as a district boarding which was later upgraded to a National secondary school by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in 2008. The school started with form one class only which was the first class in the first cohort to sit for the MSCE examination in 2010. The school has been sending students to public universities since 2010 with an average of thirty students per year. The school has grown to a total enrolment of 364 students this, 2018 academic year.

Subjects Offered
Sciences: Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agriculture and Computer studies (not examinable).
Humanities: Geography, Social Studies, History and Bible Knowledge.
Languages: English (Language and Literature), French and Chichewa (Language and Literature).
Teaching Staff
The school has highly qualified and committed teachers who are very conversant and experienced in the delivery of the Malawian Curriculum. This ensures that our students meet the highest standards required by prestigious public universities in Malawi. The school currently has 19 teachers; 13 males and 6 females.
Non-Teaching Staff
The school has a variety of non-teaching professionals, for instance, cooks, accountants, secretary, plumbers, security guards and ground labourers. In total, there are 25 non-teaching staff; 23 males and 3 females.
The Library
The school library plays a vital role in the work of the school across the full range of subjects, ages and abilities. We have books in stock of different categories; novels, textbooks, reference books, and many other contemporary literatures.
Bursaries
There are a number of bursaries available for a selected number of needy hard-working students; giving an opportunity to the less privileged students to access high quality education. Students in the school are assisted with bursaries from individuals, the church and other organisations. Some of the organisations supporting the students with bursaries are: Camfed, Peach Tree, Blickwinkel Afrika and Plan Malawi.
Admission
Students come from two sources strictly based on merit. 60% is selected by Ministry of Education Science and Technology through Primary School Leaving Certificate (PSLC) National Examinations and 40% is selected by the church through Catholic National Education Commission examinations.

Special Activities
Every Monday afternoon, From 3 pm to 5pm, students attend Mass. On Sunday, they attend church services. The Non-Catholics organize Presbyterian Church service on campus. Sunday afternoon they meet as Young Christian Students and Student Christian Organisation of Malawi respectively.
Our students are also involved in a lot of activities. We have a TEVETA club, in 2016 the school participated in a choir competition and Kaseye Girls scooped the second position the whole Northern Region of Malawi. Recently, January 2018, one of our students, was on position 1 in an essay writing competition organized by Malawi Writers Union.
Sports
Our students play different kind of games, we have football, netball and volleyball. They also take part in athletics.
Community
The school is located in T/A Mwaulambia Area, on the side of Misuku Hills in Chitipa District. The school enjoys a healthy environment with the community. The school also has an Open Secondary School which enrols both girls and boys around the community. It has an enrolment of about 250 students.
